The Whitewater Roadshow is our spring tour across the West, running April through June 2027. We chase the best spring flows, from the basalt canyon of the White Salmon to the big-volume waves of the Lochsa, with stops at three of the best whitewater festivals in the country along the way.

The Roadshow clinics are built for paddlers who are ready to step up to Class IV, or who want to get proficient at the skills Class IV demands: a reliable boof, sharp eddy catches, clean lines and confident decision-making.

The stops

White Salmon, Washington (April 24-25)

We kick off the Roadshow in the Columbia River Gorge, home to the White Salmon, a clear, cold river carved through a deep basalt canyon. The Gorge is packed with great whitewater, so depending on water levels, we’ll run the clinic on the White Salmon or one of the other rivers nearby. Wherever we land, it’s the perfect place to dial in the skills that make Class IV feel manageable: boofing, boat control and reading complex rapids.

Big Flat Jamboree, Trinity River, California (May 15–16)

The Big Flat Jamboree is an annual whitewater celebration on the Trinity River honoring the life and legacy of Will Hoxie. It’s a nonprofit event put on by the Will Hoxie Memorial Fund, with races and fun runs on the Pigeon Point Run, a classic 5.5-mile Class II/III section, plus live music and raffles. Many paddlers camp right on the river at Pigeon Point Campground. We’re leading a community paddle as part of the event, so this stop is open to a wide range of paddlers.

Lochsa River, Idaho (May 22–23)

The Lochsa is big-volume whitewater at its best: long wave trains, big holes and continuous rapids along Highway 12 in north-central Idaho. This clinic is about getting comfortable in big water, with reading fast-moving features and staying calm when the river is pushy.

Bigfork Whitewater Festival, Montana (May 28–30)

Now in its 52nd year, the Bigfork Whitewater Festival happens every Memorial Day weekend on the Wild Mile, the last mile of the Swan River. It’s a Class IV section that runs right through downtown Bigfork before spilling into Flathead Lake, with a trail along the river that gives spectators front-row seats. The festival benefits the Montana Kayak Academy.

Join our women’s race clinic and get ready to compete, or come cheer on your CWC coaches from the bank.

North Fork Championship, Idaho (June 8–10)

The North Fork Championship brings the world’s best kayakers to the North Fork of the Payette River to race Jacob’s Ladder, one of the most challenging courses in the sport. Race week is also a full festival, now based in Smiths Ferry with a campground directly across from the river, plus Wild Rivers Night, an evening dedicated to protecting free-flowing rivers.

Join the women’s race clinic, or watch your CWC coaches compete on one of the most legendary stretches of whitewater in the world.

Join the Roadshow

The Whitewater IV clinics are for paddlers with strong Class III skills and a solid combat roll who are ready for the next step. The Women’s Race Clinics are geared towards class IV/V paddlers interested in racing for their first time or want to hone in that all-important race mentality.

Not sure if these clinics are for you? Check out our Paddling Skill Level Self-Assessment, and if you’re not quite there yet, our whitewater kayaking clinics on the South Fork are the perfect way to get ready. All of the festivals have great spectating, awesome music, and away from the race courses, there are river sections for paddlers of all levels.

Save the dates – registration for the clinics opens soon! Want more details? Email us at info@cwwcollective.com or keep an eye on our social media and website for updates.

See you in the spring!
