LEARN TO WHITEWATER KAYAK

These 2-3 day whitewater kayaking programs are multi-level clinics! They are designed for everyone, from beginners who have never sat in a boat before to participants who have had some formal kayaking training or past paddling experience. Our expert instructors work with participants on paddling fundamentals and how to effectively maneuver a whitewater kayak. There is also a focus on river safety and rescue, basic hydrology and how to make good decisions on the water.

Whitewater Kayaking Clinic, South Fork American, 2-3 Days

This is two or three full days of whitewater kayaking instruction. Our days on the water cover paddle techniques, basic hydrology, river safety concepts and practical experience on the water with various skills and drills. Camping is on the banks of the South Fork at a campground with hot showers, store and wifi.

Full Whitewater Experience, South Fork American, 3 Days

This clinic includes the same two full days of kayaking instruction with an added bonus. On day three, we hit some exciting whitewater with a river trip down the Class 3 “Gorge” section. Based on skill level and instructor discretion, participants have the option to paddle either a hard shell kayak, inflatable kayak or in a guided raft. Camping is on the banks of the South Fork at a campground with hot showers, store and wifi.

Whitewater Kayaking Clinic, Lower Klamath, 2 Days

This weekend is two full days of whitewater kayaking instruction. Our days on the water cover paddle technique, basic hydrology, river safety concepts and practical experience on the water with various skills and drills. With raft-support to carry the gear down the river, this clinic includes one night of wilderness style camping, two deli style lunches, one 3-course dinner and one hot breakfast all served riverside.

CUSTOM RAFTING TRIPS

We offer single and multi-day whitewater rafting trips in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills and beyond.

South Fork American “Chile Bar” – 1-Day

The Chile Bar section starts with 6 miles of continuous Class 3 rapids, then slows down with a leisurely float through the historic James Marshall Gold Discovery State Park. A delicious deli style gourmet lunch will be served riverside before you return to your vehicles at the beautiful Camp Lotus.

The South Fork American is rated Class 3, with mellow sections in between the rapids where your team can relax, enjoy the scenery or go for a refreshing swim. An excellent trip for all experience levels!

South Fork American “Gorge” – 1-Day

The Gorge departs from the beautiful Camp Lotus on a mellow section of river, allowing time to practice our paddling skills. A delicious deli style gourmet lunch will be served riverside, then the pace quickly picks up with thrilling Class 3 rapids in the narrow Gorge section before finish in Folsom Lake.

Interested in spending two days on the South Fork? Then this is a great option – Day one is spent rafting the “Gorge” and the second day is on the “Chile Bar” section. With Camp Lotus as our base, you’ll enjoy camping under the stars with the luxury of hot showers and your car nearby. Two deli lunches, 3-course dinner and a hot breakfast are included in the trip.

Middle Fork American – 2 Days

The Middle Fork is 18 river miles of pristine wilderness and amazing rapids with numerous beautiful side hikes along the Middle Fork canyon. The trip includes one night of wilderness style camping, two delicious deli style lunches, one 3-course dinner and one hot breakfast all served riverside.

A step-up from the South Fork, the Middle Fork American is rated Class 4, making it a more intermediate run. With bigger and more challenging rapids, it is great for experienced rafters looking for more thrills.

A Holistic Approach

Yoga: To keep the body aligned before and after days on the water, a certified yoga instructor leads evening and morning yoga sessions.

Massage Therapy: We can arrange to have a massage therapist available at camp to soothe those aching muscles after a day of paddling.
