Cancellation Policy

Since spots are extremely limited and creating these clinics and trips require a lot of logistical planning, including instructors, gear, transportation and permits, we must adhere to a strict cancellation policy.

Please read the following carefully:

Clinics and Trips within the United States

  • Clinic and trip payments are non-refundable.

Private Custom Large Group Bookings

  • 50% Deposit is non-refundable
  • Balance is due 30 days prior to start of clinic or trip and is non-refundable

International Trips & Domestic Clinics

  • $600 Deposit is non-refundable
  • Cancellations 120 days or more prior to the trip – 50% refund
  • Cancellations within 119 days of the trip – No refund

Refunds are given in the form of credit towards another clinic or trip. Credit must be used within 1 calendar year from the date of cancellation. Refund credit may not be rolled over into another clinic or trip more than once.

In Regards to COVID-19

We have added a few things to help keep people safe from communicable diseases. At the time of booking, you will receive a Communicable Disease Waiver and Release form, as well as our verbal checklist guest screening procedure. We will be using the “verbal checklist guest screening” at the beginning of your session to screen for symptoms. Please examine this and familiarize yourself with our screening questions. We will also ask you to do a self-assessment a few days before your course. The presence of certain symptoms may preclude you from being able to participate in the course.

Please note that the CDC has defined certain people as being at “higher risk” of severe illness with regard to COVID-19. Among the higher risk groups are people over 65 and also people who have a variety of underlying medical conditions like respiratory diseases, diabetes or having a compromised immune system.

For more information in determining if you are at higher risk of serious illness, please visit the CDC website:

If you are in a higher risk category, we strongly recommend that you consult with your medical care provider prior to coming to your course with California Watersport Collective.

Although we will be cautious and follow sanitation and distancing guidelines, please be aware that the risk of exposure to or contraction of COVID-19 cannot be eliminated despite the best efforts at mitigation.

In Regards to Air Quality Index (AQI)

Due to climate change, West Coast of the United States is experiencing a higher volume of wildfires resulting in lower air quality due to smoke during the late summer and fall months. If you a booking a clinic during this time, please be advised that smoke due to wildfires may affect the air quality outside around where we have our clinics, classes and trips.

We monitor smoke and wind forecasts carefully and will always make our decision on whether to cancel an trip or clinic based on the health and safety of our guests and staff. If a class is canceled due to smoke/fire, registered participants will receive a full refund in the form of credit to be used within nine (9) months of the class cancellation. If a high AQI is predicted during a clinic or trip where airborne particulate matter 2.5 micrometers or smaller (PM2.5) is 151 or greater at the location of the clinic or trip, a participant may cancel their booking within twenty four (24) hours of their booking and receive a full refund in the form of credit to be used within nine (9) months of cancellation. If a participant cancels more than 24 hours before the scheduled clinic or trip, we must adhere to our above cancellation policy, as winds often shift from one day to the next, allowing for clear skies and good air quality.
