Queens of the Wave

On a beautiful California day, a bunch of rad women came out to surf, hula hoop and lifestyle when Cali Collective hosted a free playboating clinic at Barking Dog wave on the South Fork American.

On a beautiful California day, a bunch of rad women came out to surf, hula hoop and lifestyle when Cali Collective hosted a free playboating clinic at Barking Dog wave on the South Fork American.

Pro-kayaker turned television producer, Katie Scott, took time out of her schedule to give tips and instruction to all the ladies who came out to paddle.

We began the afternoon with twelve enthusiastic students, but as the day progressed, nearly thirty women turned up to the wave, and the clinic quickly turned into a surf festival!

Everyone made progress- some girls learned to spin, some to blunt, others learned to carve and a couple beginners managed to surf onto the wave for their very first time.

Later on in the afternoon, some river surfers came down and a few of the ladies hopped on surfboards.

There was a lot of laughter and an abundance of smiles, as women were helping women tear it up!
