Whitewater Kayak Instruction Sacramento
A perfect day trip from Sacramento
Head east on Highway 50 toward Placerville and you're on the river before you know it. Coloma sits in the heart of Gold Rush country in El Dorado County — a straightforward drive with no traffic headaches. Most of our clinics run as single-day or half-day sessions, making it easy to leave Sacramento in the morning and be on the water by 9am.
What to expect on the South Fork
The South Fork American River runs Class II and III rapids through 21 miles of scenic Sierra foothills — excellent teaching water with enough challenge to make it memorable. We keep groups small, provide all gear, and tailor instruction to where you are as a paddler. No experience necessary.
Clinics & Programs available
We offer whitewater kayaking, packrafting, SUP, guided river trips, and corporate retreats on the South Fork throughout the season — April through September. Browse by discipline below or visit our South Fork American River page for a full overview.
