Ready to turn off those devices and spend some quality time on the river away from the hustle and bustle of daily life?
This 2-day wilderness kayak camp is the perfect solution.
The experience begins with a pre-trip Zoom meeting in the afternoon of August 3rd, where students and guardians will be briefed on the itinerary of the trip, including what to bring and how to pack. This is the time to ask questions! The trip is raft supported but the students will carry some of their own gear to get the true experience of what it’s like to do a “self support” kayak trip. We’ll carry the heavy things like coolers, stove and, of course, the groover.
In the morning, students will meet with their instructors and we’ll begin the process of organizing and packing to give them a real world taste of what it’s like to do a wilderness trip. We’ll then head to the river and set off downstream. We’ll discuss the plan, including things like knowing the milage, features, timing, potential side hikes and how to find a good camp. Once we stop for the day, the students will help set up the kitchen, groover and their own camps. This is a hands-on experience! In the morning, we’ll pack up camp and paddle on downstream.
Please note: This camp is for students who are already paddling class III whitewater. This is not an introduction to whitewater. Please see our Whitewater I & II Teens and Tweens Clinics.

The cost of the clinic includes instruction both days, camping and all the gear you’ll need – kayak, paddle, personal flotation device (PFD), sprayskirt, helmet, wetsuit and paddle jacket. This gear will be there ready for you when you check in to this clinic.
